Enhancement of health care professionals is one of the goals of this institution & therefore, it has established an institute of Nursing to educate & prepare nursing professional dedicated to patient care. Under Shirodkar Hospital Trust Institute of Nursing Education & Paramedical Sciences has started Revised General Nursing d Midwifery Programme in 2004 .

The Institute of Nursing Education & Paramedical Sciences is recognized by the Indian Nursing Council (New Delhi), Maharashtra Nursing Council Mumbai, Maharashtra State Government, Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik. The Institute offers 3 ½ Yr Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery (RGNM) & 3½ Yr Auxiliary Nursing Midwifery (RANM), 2 Yr PBBSc Nursing (Degree) and 2 Yr MSc Nursing (PG) programmes/ A highly qualified & experienced teaching faculty plans & implements the education programme which is divided into:

Class Room Teaching: Class Room Teaching imparts knowledge of Nursing & Medical Sciences and humanities using modern teaching techniques, familiarizing students knowledge in Community Health Nursing Nutrition, Health Promotions & all types of specialized nursing subjects like child health nursing, mental health & midwifery.

Supervised Clinical Practice – This practice compliments that with practical knowledge for professional skills. Students undergo clinical practice under expert guidance in various sections of hospital to achieve the highest degree of patient care.

Practical experience in community health nursing with a thorough grounding in community health services. Our students would render preventive, promotive, restorative & emergency health care to individuals & community as required.

The students of our institute will be able to:

RANM – Revised Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery

Eligibility Criteria:

Only female candidates can apply.

Minimum education qualification 12th pass.

Students shall be medically fit.

DNB [Diplomate of National Board]

AIMS Hospital is having accreditation of DNB for the following specialty.

General Medicine – which is 3 years full time course. (2 Seats each year)

 INTRODUCTION

The Government of India established the National Board of Examinations (NBE) in 1975 with the objective of improving the quality of the Medical Education by establishing high and uniform standards of postgraduate examinations in modern medicine on an all India basis and utilizing existing infrastructure for capacity building.NBE at present conducts postgraduate and postdoctoral examinations in approved specialties leading to the award of Diplomate of National Board. The Medical Council of India has laid down standards for postgraduate examinations conducted by various medical colleges and affiliated to concerned universities and other institutions, yet the levels of proficiency and standards of evaluation vary considerably in these institutions. The Examinations conducted by NBE provide a common standard and mechanism of evaluation of minimum level of attainment of the knowledge and competencies of medical specialties. Moreover, intra country and international comparisons are facilitated with the availability of common evaluation mechanism.

 RECOGNITION OF DNB QUALIFICATIONS

The Nomenclature of the qualification awarded by the National Board of Examinations is “Diplomate of National Board”. The list of recognized qualifications awarded by the Board in various Broad and Super specialties as approved by the Government of India and included in the First Schedule of IMC Act 1956 is as given in Annexure A. As per the Indian Medical Council Act 1956; the power to recognize medical qualification and determine their equivalence rests with the central government. The Diplomate qualifications awarded by the National Board of Examinations are equated with the postgraduate and post doctorate degrees awarded by other Indian Universities for allpurposes including appointment to teaching posts as lecture/Assistant Professor by the Government of India, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare; vide their notifications issued from time to time. The holders of Board’s qualification awarded after an examination i.e.DNB are eligible to be considered for specialist’s post/faculty in any Hospital including a training/teaching institution on a teaching post/as a faculty member. Diplomate National Board qualifications are well recognized and accepted as high standard specialist qualifications.

ACADEMICS

CME, Guest Lectures and Seminars are conducted on regular basis as part of teaching programme.
